Belonging to the University of Canberra Union as a club and society which began life after a collaboration between the University of Canberra and the University of Canberra Union which saw $20,000 raised to begin the project.
The aim was to create a social network for the University students, a voice if you will for the students of the university to speak out with, be heard and make Canberra know they were there, it also helped the Universitys image by helping create such an entity.
UCFM is supported by the volunteers and student body at the University of Canberra as well as select members of the surrounding community and has a proud member and listener base.
